De Voorst House in Eefde was built in the 17th century by a close friend of King-Statholder William III. The design for the house, the interior and the gardens was done by Jacob Roman and Daniel Marot, who also designed Het Loo palace, not far from De Voorst. It is a fine example of typical dutch castle architecture from the Golden Age, that was followed all over Europe. Now, the house is used as a conference hotel.
